The Accidental Accountant: Managing the Financials of Your Small Business

$75.00

You started your business to make a living using your creative talents. You didn’t start it to get better at accounting. But understanding the language of business is an important part of running a successful business – even a creative one. The Accidental Accountant was designed for owners of creative enterprises who want their businesses to grow and to become stronger financially.
During this two-hour workshop, you’ll learn:

  • Why you need to understand accounting to run your creative business

  • The three scorecards that will help you understand where your business is and where it is going and how to update them.

  • How important business activities like buying materials, making products, and selling impact your finances and your business.

  • The tools that you can use to keep track of your business finances and how to pick the right one for you and your business.

  • Best practices for managing the money behind your business.

This workshop is guaranteed to be spreadsheet-free! It is an introduction to the financial tools that will help you understand your business.

James Szuch is a passionate advocate for helping artists, artisans, and makers unlock the business potential of their creative endeavors. With over two decades of experience in teaching business and entrepreneurship, James is dedicated to ensuring that creatives have the knowledge and skills to shape their businesses to meet their financial, personal, and creative goals. He has worked with organizations such as the Arts and Business Council of Greater Nashville, the Nashville Fashion Alliance, and The Forge to deliver business education programs to artists and creative makers.

** Classes are transferable up to 48 hours before class, but not refundable.
