In this introductory class, students will fashion their own classic belt from genuine leather.
Learn about the properties of vegetable tanned leather, leatherworking tools, basic principles of cutting and finishing, and how to install a removeable buckle.
You will also have the option to add decorative stamping of letters or shapes.
Beginner friendly. No prior experience with leatherworking needed. All materials for this class will be supplied to students by The Forge.

Silversmithing for Beginners

Learn the incredible art of silversmithing, and take home your very own sterling jewelry!
In this fun, beginner friendly class, you will learn and practice the core skills of silversmithing. All the tools and materials you need will be provided in the class.
You will learn:
Foundational skills and techniques of silversmithing
How to make (and take home) a set of sterling silver stacking rings
How to make (and take home) your very own ring with a bezel set stone
You will be introduced to important techniques and tools, including torches to heat the metal.
After class, you’ll go home with all of your new handmade sterling silver jewelry, a packet full of resources on suppliers, trouble shooting tips, and reference sheets for the skills you acquired in class, as well as access to Jenny’s online beginner’s silversmithing course so you can refer back to video recorded content of the steps we cover in class.

As the founder of esteemed flower shop Laurel and Leaf, she has specialized in custom arrangements for her impressive client list. Stacy has received accolades for her work, including being listed in the top 20 florists in the South by Southern Living Magazine, named Voter’s Choice in Nashville House and Home Magazine for five consecutive years, and consistently placed in the top three florists on Yelp. Linocut Printmaking 101, Part 1

Students will leave with their own carved block, three custom prints created from the block, and resourceful materials distributed in the class for ongoing reference.

Bring your new silversmithing skills to the next level! As an intermediate level silversmith, you will learn to make a pair of earrings and a necklace. Apply your base of knowledge while experimenting with new techniques and design elements.

Fiber artist Jennifer Fleischer is the owner and founder of Ibu Textiles, a line of woven products created in Nashville, TN. She designs and weaves each unique piece by hand. With the use of floor and frame looms, she blends traditional and experimental techniques. Her current work exhibits a strong design aesthetic inspired by Jennifer’s experiences seeking peace and calm in an urban environment. Traveling plays a vital role in her inspiration as well, as the brand’s name itself, Ibu, means ‘Mother’ in Indonesian. Fiber artist Jennifer Fleischer is the owner and founder of Ibu Textiles, a line of woven products created in Nashville, TN. She designs and weaves each unique piece by hand. With the use of floor and frame looms, she blends traditional and experimental techniques. Her current work exhibits a strong design aesthetic inspired by Jennifer’s experiences seeking peace and calm in an urban environment. Traveling plays a vital role in her inspiration as well, as the brand’s name itself, Ibu, means ‘Mother’ in Indonesian. Originally from New York, Jennifer happily calls Nashville home with her husband, Nate, multiple plants and more yarn than she knows what to do with. Join us for a relaxing, creative afternoon and learn the basics of Tapestry Weaving! In this beginner workshop you will acquire all the skills you need to create and design your very own textile. You even get to take home your own loom, so that you can continue your weaving journey.
In this workshop you will learn:
All about looms and the tools associated with weaving
The difference between the warp and weft and how to set up a loom
All the various stitches including plain weave, soumak, and rya knots
How to add fringe and tassels
How to incorporate a variety of fiber weights and textures
How to plan and execute your own design

Fiber artist Jennifer Fleischer is the owner and founder of Ibu Textiles, a line of woven products created in Nashville, TN. She designs and weaves each unique piece by hand. With the use of floor and frame looms, she blends traditional and experimental techniques. Her current work exhibits a strong design aesthetic inspired by Jennifer’s experiences seeking peace and calm in an urban environment. Traveling plays a vital role in her inspiration as well, as the brand’s name itself, Ibu, means ‘Mother’ in Indonesian. Originally from New York, Jennifer happily calls Nashville home with her husband, Nate, multiple plants and more yarn than she knows what to do with. Linocut Printmaking 101, Part 2
Level: Beginner
Approx. Duration: 6 Hours (2 3-hour Weekly Sessions). This class is 2 parts, each a 3-hour session on consecutive weeks. You must attend both dates to complete your project, and you must attend the first day in order to proceed.

In this hands-on workshop, you will explore the exciting world of Linocut Printmaking! Learn how to draw, transfer, carve and print your own design, leaving with your very own carved block and custom prints.
Instructor Sarah Bogdal will take you through a historical perspective of printmaking, relief and linocut, moving on to an in-depth look at materials, and finally guiding you through the process of successful carving and printing.
Students will leave with their own carved block, three custom prints created from the block, and resourceful materials distributed in the class for ongoing reference.
No prior experience required, open to all levels.

Sarah's goal is for each print to lie just shy of disorienting—visually dense enough to require a second look, rewarding those who let themselves linger. This Brand Ambassador Materials Workshop is a hands-on workshop for artists of all levels and experience from beginner to professional. The Acrylic Family Workshop will focus on several types of acrylic paint, including Holbein’s Heavy Body Acrylic, Fluid Acrylic, Acrylic Ink, “Mat” Matte Acrylic, Colored Gesso, and Acrylic Mediums, as well as Legion’s 100% cotton Stonehenge Aqua White and Black papers, Yupo White paper, and an assortment of General Pencil materials.

Erica Feinberg, is a community-taught artist whose creative journey began after completing a pharmacist residency in Nashville. Seeking a creative outlet, she discovered a passion for painting and has since focused on exploring the interplay between science and art. Her work primarily employs acrylic, gouache, and acrylic gouache mediums that allow her to capture the beauty and complexity of the natural world. She also loves exploring many different mediums to expand her creative expression.
Mosaic Glass - Create Your Own Mini Vase
Level: Beginner
Approx. Duration: 3 Hours
Minimum Age: 7 with adult supervision only.

In this beginner level class, students will create their own miniature vase! Instructor Litzy Reavaldez will assist you in applying your creativity towards your own unique design. Together in person, you will score glass, cut tile, and apply with adhesive. Once the adhesive has cured, you will complete your personal mosaic masterpiece from home with Litzy’s take-home grouting kit and detailed instruction video.

Stacy has received accolades for her work, including being listed in the top 20 florists in the South by Southern Living Magazine, named Voter’s Choice in Nashville House and Home Magazine for five consecutive years, and consistently placed in the top three florists on Yelp. Beginner Leatherworking: Craft A Guitar Pick Holder

Create your own souvenir from Music City! Craft your own guitar pick holder from genuine leather, complete with metal clip to attach to your gig bag or keychain.
Students will learn how to cut, sew, edge-finish, and install hardware on natural colored vegetable tanned leather. You will even choose your own thread color and apply stamps of letters or shapes to add your own personal touches.
Free guitar picks for every student! Guitar keychain pictured is not included.
You will receive a copy of the pattern and shopping list for tools and supplies to take home with you and continue crafting your own designs.

Silversmithing for Beginners
Level: Beginner
Approx. Duration: 5 Hours (w/ half hour lunch break included)

Learn the incredible art of silversmithing, and take home your very own sterling jewelry!
In this fun, beginner friendly class, you will learn and practice the core skills of silversmithing. All the tools and materials you need will be provided in the class.
You will learn:
Foundational skills and techniques of silversmithing
How to make (and take home) a set of sterling silver stacking rings
How to make (and take home) your very own ring with a bezel set stone
You will be introduced to important techniques and tools, including torches to heat the metal.
After class, you’ll go home with all of your new handmade sterling silver jewelry, a packet full of resources on suppliers, trouble shooting tips, and reference sheets for the skills you acquired in class, as well as access to Jenny’s online beginner’s silversmithing course so you can refer back to video recorded content of the steps we cover in class.
Plan ahead for your class:
Be sure and wear closed toed shoes, long pants and tie your long hair up.
There will be a short break for lunch, which your instructor will give you a 30 minute notice for. Please bring something to eat that does not require heating, or plan to have your lunch delivered for the time advised by your instructor.

Hezekiah Gatson is a designer and maker with a background in architecture, woodworking, and product design. After earning his Architecture degree from the University of Arkansas in 2007, he began as a CAD Designer at Julian & Son’s Fine Woodworking, where he honed his attention to detail. He founded IGI Designs in 2011, offering architectural plans, later expanding into custom woodworking and product design. Hezekiah blends form and function to create lasting, thoughtful designs.
