Street Art 101 focuses on disrupting the industry norm of how a traditional painting class might be taught. This is all about thinking outside of the box while emphasizing artistic diversification - integrating graphic and street art into a composition. There are no rules. We will use spray paint, paint pen, pastels and stencils on glass. Students will complete an 11”x14” framed piece in the style of street art, to take home and hang on their walls!

I am a Laguna Beach artist born and raised; I have been honing my craft in contemporary styled artwork for the last decade. In this class participants will learn the basics of pop-up book design, including creating basic pop-up mechanisms, incorporating artistic elements, and assembling a simple pop-up book

We will discuss the history and art of pop-up books, looking at examples of different types of pop-up mechanisms and books to inspire participants. In this exploration, we will learn about the different folds and artistic elements that go in to the engineering behind the magic of pop-up books.

Participants leave with a solid understanding of pop-up book basics and a completed project they can be proud of!
