  • The Forge Nashville 217 Willow Street Nashville, TN, 37210 United States (map)
Build Your Own Custom Keepsake Box Part 3
$0.00

This is a 3 part class. You must purchase Part 1 and register for
Parts 2 and 3 (free).

To finish your box, you should attend all class times.

During this introductory woodworking class, each student will produce a custom keepsake box with a lid, measuring roughly 9"L x 6"W x 4"H. Each project produced will be unique to each student.  Basic machining, construction, wood joinery, and wood finishing techniques will all be taught as a part of this class. Wood type/color, and box dimensions can be personalized. Students will learn to cut, assemble, and glue a mitered box with splines on each corner. After glued components have cured, students will be taught how to construct the lid of the box, and given the option to customize with a handle or lift. In the final session, students will sand their boxes, and return home with a small wood finishing kit as well as instruction on how to
complete the finishing process.

Class will be taught by local Nashville Woodworker Cam Banks of CamCrafted Wooden Box Studio, recently exhibiting at the Crafty Bastards craft fair as a featured artist.
