Begin your intensive introduction into the art of wood turning with Jared Moran of Wildland Woodworks! We will cover the basics of the lathe, lathe tools and accessories. We will start with a discussion of various holding techniques, how to prepare bowl blanks and a discussion on design. Students will continue mastering skills by turning bowls on the lathe, which they will take home after sanding and sealing them. The maximum number of students is three, so that each student receives one on one instruction, each on a lathe of their own.

Class tuition includes all materials.

Plan ahead for your class:

  • Be sure and wear closed toed shoes, long pants and tie your long hair up.

  • There will be a short break for lunch, which your instructor will give you a 30 minute notice for. Please bring something to eat that does not require heating, or plan to have your lunch delivered for the time advised by your instructor.

All class enrollments are subject to a no-refund, no-transfer policy. Instructors have the right to refuse any enrollee who does not meet the age and/or prerequisite requirements without issuing any refund.
