Begin your intensive introduction into the art of wood turning with Jared Moran of Wildland Woodworks! We will cover the basics of the lathe, lathe tools and accessories. We will start with a discussion of various holding techniques, how to prepare bowl blanks and a discussion on design. Students will continue mastering skills by turning bowls on the lathe, which they will take home after sanding and sealing them. The maximum number of students will cap at 4, so that each student receives one on one instruction. Lunch and beverages will be provided.
Jared Moran of Wildland Woodworks is a self taught turned from Bowling Green, KY. He uses only local wood in his shop. His work is defined by a desire to highlight the natural colors and features of each wood species.
