This unique, safe-space painting workshop celebrates the stories we carry within our bodies! Participants will create a personal self-portrait in acrylic by painting a meaningful body part that tells part of your story. Together, we will create a relaxed, supportive environment where all experience levels are welcome.
Leading artist and Seeing HER creator, Sarah Arace, will collect personal images from participants of their favorite body parts, which will be sketched onto a canvas for your use in the class. Through guided brushwork techniques, color mixing, and layering, each student will explore their own way of seeing and appreciating something about themselves that is worth celebrating.
Seeing HER explores body image, self-acceptance, and healing. Sarah has previously facilitated HER workshops and exhibitions, including a 2025 Metro Arts Thrive-funded project.
All project supplies & materials are provided by The Forge. Enrollees are required to submit a photograph at request of the instructor.
