Level: Beginner
Approx. Duration: 6 Total Hours, divided into 2 sessions. This class is 2 parts, each a 3-hour session on particular dates. You must attend all dates to complete your project, and you must attend the first day in order to proceed.
Class Enrollment Closure: 3 days prior to date of class. Any last minute enrollments must be approved prior to sign up.
Age Requirement: 16+ (Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied to class by a parent/legal guardian to sign a waiver on their behalf.)

Create a custom picture frame from scratch! Over 2 sessions, learn to build a frame for your favorite Hatch Show poster print, or other similar sized artwork. Students can choose from a wide variety of frame profiles and color applications. You will fabricate, assemble, sand, stain, finish and install hardware to complete your very own original frame, built to professional standards!
Class Outline:
Session 1: Introduction, basic construction, how to apply stain or finish. Homework is to shop for a glass insert piece and mat (optional) to bring to the next session.
Session 2: Completing the finish to achieve a professional-look, installing the glass, inserting the artwork, adding hardware.
Most tools & materials are provided by The Forge. This class requires students to purchase some of their own materials, which will be outlined by the instructor.
